Q:    When do the meetings begin and how many nights a week will they be held?

A:    The NET 2008: Discoveries ‘08 series begins Friday night, October 24, 2008. The meetings will be held five nights a week each Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday for the first two weeks, and will continue four nights a week each Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Tuesday, through November 29, 2008. There will be no meeting on the night of the U.S. Presidential Election Tuesday November 4.

Q:    What time will be meetings be uplinked?

A:   ETZ and PTZ - 7:15 to 8:30 PM with a 7:00 option.
      CTZ -  7:30 to 8:45 PM on 3ABN (extra 15 min option will not be available)
      MTZ - can record ETZ uplink and show when convenient.

*ETZ/PTZ: 11:15 AM - 12:15 PM on HOPE Channel
*CTZ 11:15 AM - 12:15 PM on 3ABN
*MTZ record ETZ to use at 11:15 AM or your choice.

Q:    Will there be Spanish Translation?

A:   Spanish translation will be available on Esperanza TV every night during Discoveries '08 except November 1-8 when the ETZ  will be bumped by the Miami Spanish series. The Spanish sites will enjoy the same option of joining the uplink at 7:00 pm or 7:15 pm but hosts are encouraged to use the first 15 minutes to go over the previous night's topic with the local group.  Promptly at 7:15 a video introduction will roll to begin the program.

The uplink times for Spanish are as follows:

*ETZ and PTZ: 7:15-8:30 pm with a 7:00 option.
*CTZ and MTZ will record or use either the ETZ or PTZ feeds.

During the week of November 1-8, the ETZ Spanish sites will be asked to record the PTZ feed and use a day later.  At the end of that week, the overlapping of one meeting can be corrected on one of the nights that Discoveries '08 usually does not meet.

Q:   Will French and Portuguese be offered?

A:   French and Portuguese translation is not possible for Discoveries '08. We extend our heartfelt apologies.

Q:    How long will each meeting be?

A:    Each meeting will be uplinked via satellite for 75 Minutes

Q:    How can I order satellite equipment?

Q:    Do I have to install my own dish?

A:    No. When you order your dish, you will need to make arrangements for the delivery date and the installation. To order your own dish, contact the Hope Channel dish sales center.

Q:    How much does the Hope Channel dish and receiver system cost?

A:    The one time cost is $179, plus shipping and handling. Installation is optional at an additional cost. All channels are free with no monthly subscriber fees.

Q:    How long will it take to have my dish delivered and installed?

A:    Typical delivery time is 10 business days. Installation can take considerably longer. Please plan ahead and place your order ASAP so you can begin receiving the pre-NET broadcasts to help you prepare for the meetings.

Q:    What is the general theme of NET 2008: Discoveries ‘08 series? What emphasis will each sermon share?

A:    Discoveries ‘08 will be a series of Christ-centered, biblical presentations, focusing especially on Bible prophecy from the perspective of ancient discoveries in the Middle East.

During the series we will journey together to the lands of the Bible to discover truth together. As we uncover the mysteries of the past, the present and future will become plain. Each presentation will emphasize some great Bible truth and its practical application to our lives today.

Q:    Will this NET series be different than past NET events?

A:    Discoveries ‘08 will be new in some significant ways.
1.    The sermon content will be all new. The emphasis is not only knowing truth but how truth can transform your life.
2.    The format of the meetings will be much more interactive than in the past. Discoveries ‘08 will feature live questions in a YouTube format, an Internet chat room, video streaming, and much more. We will take advantage of new technologies to make God’s Word available to the largest number of people.
3.    Interactive review sheets, as well as decision cards, will be available on the Discoveries ‘08 Web Site at no charge for downloading.

Q:    You mentioned Discoveries ‘08 materials. What do the free interactive review sheets contain?

A:    The Interactive review sheets contain a summary of the each evening’s presentation with a short review quiz and reflection questions. They are designed for pastors to interact with the audience for ten minutes before the satellite uplink begins.

Q.     Will I be able to receive anything else on my dish besides Discoveries 08?

A:     Yes. Your dish will receive all of the Adventist channels in North America. (Hope Channel, Esperanza, LLBN, 3ABN, 3ABN Latino, and three radio channels) Each channel broadcasts 24/7 and includes inspiring shows for your church and family. You will also be able to receive on Hope Channel all of the official church camp meeting broadcasts, other church events, and the special Discoveries 08 preparation broadcasts.
 
Q:     My church or home has Sky Angel. Will I be able to receive Discoveries 08?

A:     No. Sky Angel will stop satellite broadcasts as of March 31, 2008. To receive Discoveries 08 you will need to get the Hope Channel dish system.
